I'm going to have to delete and repost all of the entries from millennia_fanworks due to complications from the migration to Dreamwidth. So they'll all be disappearing then reappearing slowly. >.> Bear with me, please!

And then I found the "Claim OpenID" tool. Which would've averted the whole damned problem. Oh well, no harm, no foul; all entries have been re-imported from the old LJ comm. Now I need only edit them rather than repost them entirely.

Author’s Note: What caused this short? I don’t know. I wanted to do some introspection from Yami on his sexuality. Not many people seem to be aware of this, but the ancient Egyptians believed same-sex relationships to be a mortal sin. While I am a vehement Puzzleshipper, I also don’t think Yami would be initially comfortable with the idea of him and Yugi as a couple.

I also decided to write this as a prelude to “Alive”, which is another (much longer) Puzzleshippy story. “Alive” takes place after Yami and Yugi have been together for a couple of years, and I decided I wanted to write about the very beginning of their relationship. Hence, this. :)

This is first person/past tense from Yami’s point of view, by the by. I’m not sure why I’ve been writing in first person so much these days. Maybe I’ve been listening to the Dresden Files audiobooks too much.

Author’s Notes: As stated in the disclaimer… this is a place-swap AU for my story “Myth of the Ancients”, which is also a Yu-Gi-Oh!/Highlander crossover. Or you could call it a bit of a “What If” scenario. Either way, have your fill of Immortal!Yami.

As a warning… there is Puzzleshipping in this fic. …Although, since Yugi is no longer the owner of the Puzzle and Yami is no longer the Spirit of the Puzzle, that term actually no longer applies. So, there is Yugi/Yami >.>.

As a last note, in case anyone gets confused, when I refer to “Malik” in this story, I’m talking about Yami Bakura. That was actually a mix-up on my part years ago, but for this particular AU, it happened to stick, and therefore it stuck for the AU of that AU, which would be this story.

Where do I come up with this stuff? I have no freaking clue. It just pops into my head. Blame my muses.
